This 1.03 mile counter-clockwise lap course takes place on the History Walk paved trails, completely removed from vehicular traffic. The path is mostly flat with only slight inclines/ declines- setting the stage for a PR, or perfect for the beginning runner. The course is walker and stroller friendly. Enjoy views of the Las Vegas Strip, Frenchman's Mountain, landing aircraft, and bunnies!
1 Hour, 3 Hour, 6 Hour, and 12 Hour: Participants will cover as many laps as they can/ want within their allotted time. Your recorded distance in the allotted time will represent the number of completed laps x 1.03 miles.
Marathon: The Marathon will start with one (1) longer first lap of 1.48 miles, then will continue with the 1.03 mile loop for 24 additional laps for a total distance of 26.2 miles. You can stop whenever you complete the 26.2 miles, regardless of time; inside of the 12 hour cut off.
** Calico Racing reserves the right to make any necessary course changes required per the permitting body and is subject to final permit approval.

An aid station will be accessed every 1.03 mile and will be stocked with water, Hammer Heed energy drink, Hammer Gel, and a variety of snacks.
*Athletes may also place a small bag/ cooler of their own provisions along the course, in a roughly 2' x 2' space per runner. Race management will advise you on race day where is permitted, but assumes no responsibility for your belongings, so no valuables please.
- 7:30am: Packet pick up begins at Sunset Park, History Walk Area
- 9am: Start time of ALL runners
- 10am: Finish of the 1 hour
- 12pm: Finish of the 3 hour
- 3pm: Finish of the 6 hour
- 9pm: Finish of the 12 hour
- 10am- 10pm: Finish line food will be available for registered runners.
- Awards will be handed out at the finish line following each wave.
- 9pm: Course officially closes
- 11pm: Park closes, everyone must be off site.
Parking is at Sunset Regional Park near the start line.
AIRPORT AND CAR RENTALS
Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport (LAS) serves the Las Vegas Valley. Sunset Park is just minutes from the airport. Numerous air carriers and rental car companies service this airport.
* All finishers get medals.
** Awards will be something inspired by nature and/or the surrounding area and the theme of the race.
Overall: Male and Female winners for each event (12 hour, 6 hour, 3 hour, 1 hour, and Marathon) go 3 deep. Overall winners will be taken out of the running for overall grand masters awards.
Overall Grand Masters: 1st Place Male and Female winner for each event (12 hour, 6 hour, 3 hour, 1 hour, and Marathon). Age 50+ on race day.
NOTE: Overall and Overall Grand Masters awards are determined based off of GUN TIME.
NOTE: Awards will be handed out at the finish line very shortly after runners start finishing, and will continue as award winners come in. Please listen for your name to be called if you think you may have placed. Awards not collected on site may be subject to a shipping charge if they are requested to be mailed. If you would like to arrange to receive your uncollected award, you must email me within 1 week after the race.
