Deja Vu logo

While it may be short, Ground Zeroes is chock full of winks and nods to other games in the Metal Gear franchise. This page collects Easter Eggs and Secrets, Unlockables, Cheats, Codes and more for Ground Zeroes.

The mission ends by revealing that the VIP target Big Boss and Miller were rescuing was none other than the games creator, writer and director, Hideo Kojima himself.

After you've complete the op Kojima is seen inside the helicopter mission select menu where he will ocasionaly give the missions a spin if you wait a few seconds.

In the Deja Vu Extra Op, there are two P.O.W.s you can find - one in the Prison Camp and another in the Boiler Room of the Administration Building. If you interact with both of these hostages, the FoxDie virus will attempt to infect the FoxEngine that the game is being run on.

In Deja Vu, players can find a Cassette Tape down by the small cave near the old prison that houses Chico. It has two tracks from past Metal Gear games on it - the Resurgence (ALERT!) music from Metal Gear Solid and the Theme of Tara from the original Metal Gear for the MSX2.

While Xbox players may get a few laughs out of dashing around as Raiden from MGS4 and Revengeance, Sony gamers will enjoy a PS3 and PS4-exclusive mission, Deja Vu, that is essentially one giant Easter egg.

For getting all answers to the ending quiz on 'Normal' players can unlock the Classic Snake skin - and if they beat it on 'Hard' they can play as Frank Jaeger with the Frank Jaegar Skin (a.k.a. Grey Fox) himself, the Cyborg Ninja.

Additionally, for completing the MGS1 Quiz on Hard, you'll unlock the Shadow Moses environmental theme - the guards are in arctic gear, it's snowing and the P.O.W.s look like the ArmsTech President Kenneth Baker and the DARPA Chief Donald Anderson.

There are 9 X.O.F. Patches (X.O.F. Unit Patches) to find in the main Ground Zeroes mission. Collect them all in one playthrough (on one mission save) in order to unlock the PlayStation and Xbox Exclusives: Deja Vu for PlayStation users, and Jamais Vu on Xbox.

Scattered around the Deja Vu mission area are stencils of all the other Metal Gear game logos - including some of the less-than-successful ones such as Portable Ops and MGS Touch. Interrogating a certain gaurd will mark all the locations of the logos in the level. The AM MRS-4 rifle found in the admin building armory emits a blue light that can erase the logos of the canonical metal gear games. Completing it triggers a short codec call with Psycho Mantis.

Games directed by Hideo Kojima: Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes, Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain.

Games NOT directed by Hideo Kojima: Snake's Revenge, Metal Gear Solid Touch, Metal Gear Acid, Metal Gear Acid 2, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, Metal Gear Ghost Babel, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance.

Metal Gear Solid is right where you find the AM MRS-4 in the administration building's armory. Outside on the building opposite the door is a logo for Metal Gear Rising Revengaeance.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes is on the roof of the small guard shack near the old prison camp. Inside the guard shack you can see the Metal Gear Ghost Babel logo.

Metal Gear is on the underside of the tin roof next to the old prison camp where you can hear Johnny having IBS problems. The Metal Gear Solid Touch logo is on a tarp that covers the near by fence.

Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake is on the side of the building near the warehouse's armory. On the roof of this building is the Metal Gear Solid Social Ops logo. The Kojima Productions logo is on another face of this building.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is behind a warning sign at the T intersection where a locked gate door leads to the cliff face landing zone where the main game starts. You can either try to look around the edge of the sign or blow it out of the way with a hand grenade. A logo for Metal Gear Acid 2 can be found along the same fence on concrete obscured by a bush.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker requires you to call the helicopter. The logo is on the tail section. The location you summon the helicopter to does not matter.

'Metal Gear Solid 3: Sna'ke Eater can be found in the guard tower at the main camp entrance above the refugee camp. The guard tower can be destroyed by a hand grenade which can make it very difficult to obtain this logo.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is on a transformer box along the first warehouse building. Right next to it is the Metal Gear Arcade logo and to the left around the corner is the log for Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops. The Kojima Productions LA logo is on the opposite side of the last warehouse building from this area.
